The GM Futurliner was in service in the 1940s and 50s and part of the Parade of Progress. The Parades propose was to show off the most modern advances in technologies such as microwave ovens, jet engines and television. The Parade continued until 1956 only to be ended due to the popularity of one invention being showed off - Television. Only 12 were built and only nine Futurliners are known to exist, five of which are in total disrepair. Photographed above is Futurliner #10. This Futurliner was perfectly restored by more than 30 volunteers over the course of seven years under the direction of Don Mayton.
