Really Awesome Recreation!
Vehicle came out of NJ, where it has been professionally built
by a known performance/body shop in the Brick area.
Started life out as a 1988 Pontiac Fiero with 25K actual miles as per the title,
on which the kit is built on,
which was professionally stretched since this Lamborghini kit is the exact dimensions
as the real thing!
Still titled as a Pontiac Fiero which makes it easier to register in any state
and keeps insurance premiums very low
Interior was tastefully done as well with custom upholstery and door panels,
as well as dash layout.
The real surprise is under the car.
Tons of man hours and money went into building this car but
at the same time it was built to use and enjoy,
without going overboard.
Under the hood lies a REAL late '90s Cadillac Northstar V8 with approx. 45k miles
since installed, based on who built the car.
Driven by an automatic transmission.
Minor upgrades in brakes and suspension were done
to accomodate the size and weight of the vehicle.
Disc brakes all around of course along with a variety of power options including:
1) Power windows (they go about halfway down)
2) Power rear hatch release
3) Power front compartment release
4) Power lamborghini door poppers
5) Air Conditioning
6) Power rear spoiler compartment release (lifts out as one unit)
This is NOT your average stripped down "sweat box"
as a lot of these were.
It was built with at least a few creature comforts and done nicely.
Wheels and tires are fairly new as well and nicely "murdered out" as they say,
which adds to the look of the car,
and if you don't like them you can just powdercoat them whatever color your want.
There has been meticulous detail work in the interior as well,
with Lamborghini custom made sill/scuff plates,
Lamborghini badges throughout the door jambs and doors,
as well as on the dash,
correct looking steering wheel,
and embroidered bulls on the seat headrests,
along with correct badges on the wheel caps.
I mean someone went through a lot of trouble to make it appear fairly legit.
Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great along with
the Monza style dual exhaust tips.
Transmission shifts seamlessly.
All the outer electricals are hooked up (lights, signals, brake lights) etc.
Now as for driving the car, I've taken it out mostly around the neighborhood here
and there for a few functions,
sometimes to use it as a promotional car for photo shoots and commercials.
It has been featured in a few music videos and
even a TV series or two since i've had it.
Transmission shifts great, brakes work nicely, steers very well.
You just have to get used to it if you've never been in one of these cars before.
I would take it easy on city streets as it's pretty low,
but once you take it out on the highway it feels nice.
The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course
so please keep that in mind.
Paint is in good shape with professionally applied base/clear PPG type paint.
Has some imperfections here and there and
could have been prepped a little better of course
as well as done nicer on the sides which have some waviness,
but this was not a $20K paintjob.
It cleans up well and shows nicely for a driver and
you definitely will not be ashamed taking it out on the street.
The previous owner wanted to convert to Cadillac gauges
but never got around to doing so,
therefore the dash gauges are mostly non-functional for now.
Some minor rubber and trim pieces should be paid some attention.
On the inside, the windshield inner pillars could use to be recovered as they are bare for now.
Passenger side door popper not working.
So overall she is not perfect and will need some form of TLC
depending on how nice you want it to be and
what you plan to do with the car.
If you just want a NICE DRIVER, this is the car for you.
If you want a show car, it will need some investment to bring it up to that level of course.
