1981 Chaika GAZ-13 - Russian limousine.
This very car is a base model, produced in 1981.
Serial #3190.
Chaikas
were produced at the Gorky automobile plant since 1959 till 1981.
My
car is one of the last made.
In 1959 on the Brussels car show Chaika
and Volga-21 got a Grand-prix,
so they were acknowledged as the best
European cars of the year.
The car that I do own was used by
the
Presidium of the Siberian Division of the Academy of Sciences of the
USSR.
It has only 60,000 original km.
Never restored, never damaged.
Wholly original upholstery, original paint
(16 layers of black nitro
dye then hand polished - factory technology),
original chrome, 8 cyl.
engine of 5.5 liter, 200 hp,
automatic transmission, autotuning radio,
power windows etc.
Such good condition of the car and such small
mileage accounts for the fact
that Chaika was used only at ceremonial
welcomes of foreign and
other high delegations, visited Akademgorodok.
Formally the car was assigned to Academician Valentin Koptug,
the
Head of The Siberian Division of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR
and the vice-president of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
There are documents (fastened by the official stamp of the Presidium)
and archive photos, justifying all the facts from this car's history.
Location: Russia
Price: $40,000.
