This has been my wife's daily driver for the past 27 years. She purchased it from our local Northern California Datsun Dealer used in 1980 (making her the second owner). The current mileage is just over 93,000 original miles, most of them around town to work or shopping. The original owners manual is in the glove box. The spare is original with the original compressed air can. My wife had this car painted metallic silver (the original color was light blue) in 1995, and it has been garaged kept since. There are a few minor scratches, of which I will send pictures upon request. There is no rust on this car that I have been able to find. The interior is in good condition over all. I just replaced the original carpet in March. The seats have black sheepskin covers on them. When the trim shop installed the carpet, they inspected the seats. They said the passenger seat is intact and in good condition, but the driver's seat has several tears, but could easily be repaired. The dash has cracks in it, but is covered with a black DASH mat. I have a used dash cap that will go with the car. The clock doesn't work, nor does the tach. My repair shop checked out the tach and said it needed to be replaced. All the glass is original and in good condition (no cracks or visible chips). The tires are like new with about 5k miles on them. The wheel covers are the original ones. The front brakes were replaced in March and the rear brakes checked. Last fall I had a tune up done and had new points, plugs, and wires, and a new distributor cap installed. The shocks were replaced a few years ago and work well (no leaks are visible). The exhaust has been replaced and is in good repair. The original radio was replaced years ago with a JVC AM/FM/Cassette stereo (we have the owners manual). The original antenna was broken off by kids a few years ago and replaced with an after market one. We have many, many receipts for service and repairs going back to 1980. The 2.8L engine is original as is the automatic transmission. The A/C works. We replaced the fan two years ago because it was getting "weak." Information Email: eugenew@charter.net |
