![]() Restored, rust-free, 33mpg! I am delighted to offer this very rare, restored 1973 Innocenti Mini Cooper 1300 on behalf of it's present owner of over 7 years. He purchased the car in restored condition and has gone on to improve on the car's driveability and working condition in a caring and meticulous manner. This true British motoring icon achieved astonishing fame from 1961 through the mid 1970s through production numbers, huge successes in many forms of motorsport, including rallying and saloon car racing against far more powerful rivals, and the many famous owners including British royalty, Enzo Ferrari, and the like. As a member of the Mini Owners Club, the current owner extensively researched the classic Mini model range and the Innocenti was the car of choice. As a successor to the highly desirable Mini Cooper S (1964 - 1971), the rare Innocenti was built under license in Milan by the brothers behind Lambretta scooters. They built 28,200 cars on the Mini Cooper Mark III platform, and featured the same 1275cc 'S' engine with its twin Solex carbs, producing 71bhp. It will propel the car to about 100mph, and return over 33mpg with ease! With Mini Cooper S specifications to brakes, suspension, and steering, the car is quick, handles great and is unbelievable fun! The car offered here is a beautifully restored example in Antelope Beige with a black painted roof panel. The interior has been reupholstered in dark chocolate brown vinyl with beige cloth inset panels in the centre of the seats. The carpet was renewed as were door and interior panels, including headliner. With very few marks and blemishes, the interior shows exceptionally well. The original 6 gauge dash is also excellent. I would say that the car was subject to an extensive restoration about 10 years or so ago, and the car holds up very well indeed. This Mini was restored to original specification with the exception of an upgraded high-performance flywheel. Since purchasing the car, the present owner has upgraded the front grill to a chrome finished steel piece, though the original, cracked grill will accompany the car. Same for the headlight bezels as the original headlights have been replaced for far brighter Halogen items. The wheels were recently upgraded to wider Mini-Lite style alloys shod with brand new Falcon tires. The original Ro-style wheels will also accompany the car. The engine number is 12H / 719X / 15424. The 'H' corresponds to High Compression specification, and the 'X' denotes the "Export" model. There is a complete set of maintenance and parts records to accompany the car, along with the original key! I have more photos of the car, including the underside, available upon request. This is a great opportunity to buy a rare and fantastic example of a great British motoring icon, with a meticulous ownership history.
