Sometimes, projects just don't go the way people expect them to. The previous owner of this 100% complete 1961 Pontiac Bonneville bought the car in the 80s. It was sitting under a carport in the back yard at a garage sale and he asked the owner if he would sell it. Well, they struck their deal and he drove it home. The new owner set about his restoration process and rebuilt the engine, carb and ignition, as well as the brakes at that time. Life got in the way and he needed the shop space so, he just parked the car in his yard... temporarily. As often happens, months and then years (about 20 of them) got away from him and he didn't get any younger or more motivated. Over time the top rotted away, as did the seats. He would occasionally run the engine, but eventually gave up on that as well. The car is complete and has a complete extra set of side chrome. Obviously, there is rust that needs to be addressed, but for the right person, the car is worth doing. A quick internet search will reveal that these cars are available in decent condition for $35-40K and in restored condition for as much as $65-70K. Bonneville production for 1961 was 66,385 and of those, only 18,264 were convertibles. This car came with power steering and brakes. Click Here For Lots More Photos. Clean WA State title in hand.
