Restored with a fully rebuilt original Engine and Transmission to outstanding original condition with mechanicals to the highest professional standards. This beautiful car was Atlanta built , Roman Red with Ermine White colors. The "Bubble Top" design was a one year design. Car was restored with exceptional mechanicals along with the original engine and drivetrain. The rare original dated 283cid Power Pac Super Turbo Fire V8 is the same engine as was in the Corvette. Equipped with the proper and rare GM 4v Rochester carburetor just for this engine and rebuilt and mounted on the proper intake manifold that feeds to the ram's horn exhaust manifolds leading to the aluminized dual exhaust that is correct. Said date codes of the engine are important to the value and history. The Powerglide automatic transmission and the rear end are dated within a few days of each other. Has original GM wheels with new Coker Radials. Gorgeous chrome and exceptional stainless trim along the side and rear windows. History: This is believed to be one family from new until September 2012 with the final restoration completed in 2013, with a terrific body and very straight sides. Original factory hubcaps. Highly detailed under chassis. All lighting systems work well, with all the correct numbers and an excellent cooling system. This car was produced from the Atlanta factory. It was owned since new by a Chevrolet car dealer's family in their collection in Toccoa, Georgia until September of 2012. This is exceptional for documentation. Signs are that all the steel on the body including fenders and quarters are original. Floors are top show prepared as factory. One footwell and the front foot areas with some work to make them nicely done as factory, Engine/drivetrain: Here is the best drivetrain to use, the original 283cid, 4V 'Power Pac Super Turbo Fire' V8. When first found this car was in good running order with even but lower compression and believed never out of the car. This original engine was rebuilt to the highest standards along with the automatic transmission rebuild. This car is for the serious car collector, for it is " One Of A Kind." Engine specs: This stock engine was originally rated at 230 horsepower, same as the Corvette. It was completely rebuilt. Block was vatted, checked and magnafluxed, bored +.040 over, with new .040 over pistons and rings, crankshaft was turned .010 over, new main bearings, new rod bearings, balanced and blueprinted, with the Rochester 4v and dual exhaust, believe this now has about 250 reliable horsepower, better than factory. Used special new cam and bearings from Doug Herbert to give slight lope muscle and a bit more horsepower, throaty sound while giving the proper vacuum to the automatic transmission. Stock cylinder heads are worked and completely rebuilt with new valve springs and retainers. Hardened valve guides were installed so this can use 93 octane gas today New oil pump with pickup tube, new pan gasket set, rear main seal, front seal, new timing chain and gears, new intake manifold gasket set, exhaust manifold gasket set, completely rebuilt stock point style distributor with Petronix Electronic Ignition installed. New 180 thermostat and gasket, generator fully checked, power steering pump fully checked, the radiator taken out and reconditioned All new hoses, clamps, new spark plugs and wires were installed. Have sheet for all date codes on the engine, showing the original engine, all correct numbers, completely rebuilt rare Rochester carburetor with an entire new kit. Have all engine balancing paperwork results. To show how correct and unmolested this fine Impala is, note, the stamping on the front of the pad is 'F042IDB', this is the Flint, April 2, 1960 (engine is the 283 Powerpac 4v carburator), the Powerglide transmission is dated 'D120', (April 12, 1960), the rear end is 'D190' or April 19, 1960, all of these important units are within a few days. Steering coupling rebuilt, Powerglide transmission with new clutches and complete seal kit, all fresh fluids throughout, Upgraded 'new' power steering system with late model GM 605 steering gear box , it is now fitted with a specialty engineered design by Borgeson with upper and lower universal steering 'U' joints which eliminates the original steering rag joint, better for steering ability and control, helps driviing safety Interior: Beautiful red/white vinyl stock seats front and rear with red/white houndstooth, full padding, red painted stock dash with chrome accents, AM radio and clock, (not working), ashtray with lighter, all windows work well, oil, gas, and temperature gauges all work, white headliner with white visors, rear ashtrays on each side, all the highly designed door panels have the chrome trim with the 'arrows' as factory, arm rests Body/trim: The paint is beautiful. Exceptional chrome and stainless trim. The front windshield and rear glass trim is exceptional. The curved window moldings are like new, the trim around the fins and the side 'spears' are beautiful, dual chrome outside mirrors, factory skirts that are firmly attached for safety, dual rear antennas, note that some of the trim as the rear lower trunk stainless has some patina as such original pieces are not available The paint finish is beautiful base coat, clear coat with outstanding luster and shine. One can see how well this car was cared for in its life, the data tag shows the color from new. Brakes/Suspension: Complete manual drum brake check and rebuild with new brake wheel cylinders and brake shoes all around, fully adjusted, flushed and bled with DOT3 fluid, BF Goodrich Silvertown Wide wall 8.00x14 4-ply tires come with car. Present new Coker Radial tires mounted on GM stamped steel wheels with the proper wider 'offset' design, has full size spare in the trunk. Original GM style bumper jack assembly, the inside of the enormous trunk is red with the spare and the proper trunk liner. Has a highly detailed show underchassis, only two footwells are the only areas replaced since 1960 but beautifully done to look as factory. The black painted underchassis is totally rust free.
