Drive Train - The original engine, transmission and differential
are present in the vehicle.
It appears that the engine was rebuilt
at some point in time,
but the engine bay looks very original and
accurately restored.
The aftermarket electric fuel pump was a bit noisy,
although it did start the engine up immediately.
The engine ran and idled beautifully.
The transmission shifted from gear to gear with no issues.
The differential was dry indicating the seals
were still in good condition.
Body and Paint - The body is straight and
still has its original lines and contours.
Overall, the paint and body presents itself very nicely.
It was repainted at one point in time from
Glade Green to its current Red color.
There is still a good amount of luster to the paint finish.
There are a couple of areas behind the convertible top
where the paint has etched up a bit.
The side panels are very straight.
There are minimal areas of body work (bondo)
used throughout the car indicating that
the original panels were in good,
rust free condition prior to its restoration.
Frame and Undercarriage -- The frame and undercarriage
are very clean.
Only a slight amount of normal surface rust
is present in some areas.
All body amount areas are solid and secure.
No signs of cracking or abnormal fatigue anywhere.
Exterior Trim - The glass is all intact with
no signs of fatigue or cracking.
The stainless trim is in very good condition.
It is straight and polished to its near original finish.
The chrome bumpers are in good condition
with no dents or major blemishes.
Slight signs of surface pitting were easily removed
with fine steel wool.
The weather stripping is still in very good condition.
The window weather stripping is still soft and pliable.
The power vinyl convertible top is working
and in good condition.
The wheels and hubcaps are original and in good condition.
The tires have been replaced with radial type design
which is better for handling.
Interior Trim -- Overall, the interior presents itself very nicely.
The seats and doors panels are in very good condition
with only minor wear.
The Carpeting is in very good condition.
All chrome interior pieces are in good condition.
Some instrument panel pieces had some slight pitting.
The instrument gauges are clear
with gauge numbers and coloring still in very good condition.
Electrical/Mechanical -- All lights and turn signals operate as they should.
All gauges seem to be operating within their range.
The radio is still functioning.
The heater controls do not appear to be working.
The power antenna was not functioning.
Suspension and Exhaust -- Overall, the suspension is in a nice Driver's Condition.
It has normal wear and appearance.
It obviously was restored upon the full restoration of this vehicle,
whenever that occurred.
Most suspension rubbers and ball joints were intact
and in good shape.
Shock absorbers and coils were intact and
without cracks or leaks.
The exhaust was also intact and without leaks.
The mufflers have been replaced at some point
and function properly.
Trunk Area - The trunk area was clean and
seemed to be in very original condition.
This is a beautiful car that is becoming rarer as time passes.
In my assessment, I would rate this vehicle as a
Very Solid # 3+ or a #2- vehicle
In Very nice Driver Quality Condition.
