![]() Has A/C and Is A Very Nice Car! Odometer Shows: 33,000 Miles This carefully restored classic automobile was one of only 2,300 ever produced by Lincoln, a division of the Ford Motor Company. A Brief History of The Mark II The New 1956 Continental Mark II made its debut at the Paris Auto Show on October 6, 1955. With its long hood and short deck, the Mark II and its modern design became an instant classic. Being priced over $10,000 only accentuated how special this car was. Options include low production - only 2,550 units, 368 C.I. overhead valve V8 with 300 HP., Turbo Drive automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power seat, Town and Country AM radio, power windows, leather interior, full instrumentation with tachometer, electric clock and carpeted trunk compartment. This Mark II was Repainted Once in the Correct Color to a nice driver standard about ten years ago The car has always been garaged and the paint has held up well. Panels are Straight with Good Gaps and No Evidence of Accident Damage. Door, hood and trunk alignment is also very good and all open and close easily. There is only one area on the car that could use some paint work and that is the side of the front left fender that shows some very small bubbling. Being that the car does not have clear coat or metallic paint, this should be an easy ''blow in'' for the average body shop or talented restoration shop. There are no known rust issues topside or underneath, although there are a few chips (repaired), minor scratches and hairline cracks, all consistent with age The Finish Shows Well Overall. Bumpers, chrome, trim, emblems, hubcaps and grille are outstanding with no discernible hazing, pitting or peeling. Glass is original and in very good condition. Two of the chrome bumperettes for the front bumper are in need of re-chroming and do not appear on the car TheRed and White Interior was Completely Restored from seat covers to door panels and carpeting. The over $7,000 Price Tag for doing so included SEVEN leather cow hides. It is a Real Stunner! Door panels, chrome door jamb trim, dash and headliner are in excellent original condition. All of the factory gauges are working, including the clock. All of the heater and A/C controls work smoothly, the blowers work properly and the A/C blows cool, but not ice cold by modern standards. All six power windows are working after replacing or rebuilding all of the motors. Under the hood is the correct 368 cubic inch Y-block V8, which was completely rebuilt by local legend Herb Carwell. The Engine Starts and Runs Like A Watch. The engine is hooked up to the original transmission which has been thouroughly checked out and works just fine. A brand new battery was just installed days ago. Tires are also new with less than 500 miles on them. A spare tire is included in the sale. The rocker moldings and wheel covers were bought as New Old Stock items and are in Pristine Condition. I've seen prices on the wheel covers alone ranging from $1,500 to $2,000. While the majority of the car is all original or replaced with OEM parts and pieces, one of the few exceptions are the aftermarket air shocks on the rear to help level things out for this heavy ride. The exhaust system in this car is stainless steel and is only missing the final one foot at the back of the car the part that goes through the bumper. We have one side, but not the other. As far as rust is concerned, There Isn't Any Rust. What little was there has been professionally repaired. The original owner of this prestigious car as indicated on the Continental brass plate on the center interior floor hump was H.J. Hall. Many of these cars when they came out on the market were purchased by famous people such as Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor and President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
