![]() Bautiful 1954 Studebaker Champion post sedan that has been professionally modified into a truly unique muscle car. I have seen a lot of cars for sale described as "one of a kind" but this one really is. The car was professionally built from an Arizona car in about 1997 and has 25,000 miles on it since the rebuild. They did a very nice job fitting an Olds 455 engine from a 1968 Toronado along with a whole bunch of upgrades that you can read below. The body was smoothed and painted a very mellow yellow. Aside from some rock chips, the paint is still very nice. The interior was completely re-done to a high standard and is in very good condition. It is just a really really nice car. With the big engine and 325 Ford 9 inch rear end, this can can move down the road with any traffic. The rear end was narrowed to fit some big Centerline wheels and fat rubber and they are needed with this much power. I had a really nice 2 1/2 dual exhaust system installed with turbo mufflers and Xj pipe and the car sounds terrific. Not too loud, but that throaty reaspy sound that can only come from a big block. The car has an aluminum radiator with high flow pusher fan. The hood has a modest amount of louvers I have driven this car in 100 degree heat and it never ever overheated. I would drive it anywhere. It is very comfortable, holds the road well and is barely turning over at 70 mph. A really nice car in every respect. BODY No evidence of bondo or rust out even around front vents. I have noticed some bumpiness around the area where the gas filler used to be (now in trunk) but that is it. All weather strip in good shape was replaced when restored. Windows tinted, no cracks. Has 1953 grill which I personally like better than the 54. INTERIOR Electric drivers seat. Camaro console with B & M ratchet shifter. Autometer gauges all work, but it does need a gas tank sending unit. LED lighting in interior. All upholstery and headliner in very good condition. Custom matching carpet with custom floor mats. I removed heater from under passenger seat. I don't drive it in winter but it still has the small defroster core that works well enough for cool days. All the vent levers, temp lever, etc. are there and work. When the car was rewired, all switches were reused as they are unique. They work great, even the wipers. SUSPENSION Has stock coil suspension in front but has been converted to disc brakes. M/C is under floor and is not power. It stops pretty well for a car of this age. No power steering. As long as you are moving it steers fine, but needs some muscle if not moving. Ford 9" rear was narrowed to fit the big tires, (car was not tubbed) and the springs were relocated inside the frame. Has old style traction bars to keep the rubber on the road. Centerline wheels are in very good condition. Tires are good.
