Held at SEMA in Las Vegas, it was the centerpiece at the VIP party. Covered by a green parachute, Dave McLellan introduced the Sniper as the crowning achievement of fifty years of Hot Rodding. As such, it is the last car shown in the "50 Years of Hot Rodding" book, signifying the progress and sophistication of the hobby. Beginning life as a 1954 Plymouth Belvedere "Savoy" convertible, this car was the brainchild of Chip Foose & Troy Trepanier. With help from Tom Gale, Chrysler's Chief of Design, who donated a Viper GTS coupe which provided the drive train, suspension, wiring, gauges and seats, the Sniper became a reality. With parents from a Plymouth "Savoy" and Dodge "Viper", the newborn child became. The Sniper.
