In a field of red hot rods, Maroon stands out like a beacon.
It certainly doesn't hurt to have excellent components
and a bulletproof drive train, either, and
this car is all that and more!
Step right up to this 1953 Chevy sedan delivery wagon as
your next ride.
First of all let me say that yes, we are aware that the grille,
parking lights and brakes are from a 1954.
However I can assure you that this beauty is a 1953
and titled that way.
With that being said, let's check this wagon out!
Goodguys shows from coast to coast!
So many hot rods are built for show, with no chance of seeing
While it's great to knock down trophies,
it's a TON of fun to drive a car like this around.
Sure, its show credentials are in order,
but this is a car built so well you could take it grocery shopping
and not worry about it.
With just 800 miles since it was completed,
you know it is fully sorted and ready to drive,
and still in fabulous show worthy condition.
Stare down the sides, brilliant maroon paint covers every inch
of the exterior with a minimum of adornment just as
the hot rod gods intended.
A chrome grille gets framed by a pair of classic headlamps
for a great start up front.
The hood is steel, and gives off just the right hot rod vibe,
as do the super traditional chrome steel wheels with
They're just the right size for the car and they look awesome.
A beautiful interior greets your arrival with style and comfort.
The seats are finished in luxurious grey cloth,
a synthetic material that feels more like a comforter than cloth!
A body color dash holds full Heritage chrome instrumentation
from VDO, a polished GM column with and A/C vents.
An AM/FM CD player adds the the sounds and finishing touches
to a beautifully upholstered interior.
The bottom of the body is covered in black,
while the frame and whatever suspension components
aren't chromed or painted are built for comfort and
controls sake, such as the rack and pinion unit for steering
precision and an added tow package.
A 4.11 gear-equipped Chevy 12-bolt rear finds itself out back.
You'll also find the original chrome door handles
which lets you into the nicely finished wagon trunk which
matches the door panels on the sides.
That kind of ingenuity is what hot-rodding is all about.
Open the hood to find the heart of this classic:
A 350 cubic inch Chevy Motor built for effortless driving,
even in heavy traffic.
While an old school set chrome valve covers adds a trick touch!
A set of headers send exhaust gasses back,
while a fat radiator and shroud dispel heat.
The chrome alternator and aluminum pulleys juice the car
and the polished Sanden A/C compressor keeps you cool
at the same time.
There's nothing radical in here, but 'radical' causes problems
on a car that's meant to be driven.
Ready to take the reigns of this baby yet?
A head turner thanks to its heritage, awesome exhaust note
and excellent fit and finish, this is a great hot rod.
Wow 'em dead at your local cruise nights,
travel Route 66 from end to end, or show up at any of the
big hot rod shows from coast to coast and you'll be guaranteed
