Thanks to taut new suspension and powerful overhead valve, 317 C.I.D,cast iron-alloy V8 engines. Which were the first introduced by Lincoln. These rugged road killers were exceptionally strong cars, made of high quality American Old Henry steel, with 123 inch wheel bases, factory ridged, cross members, with steel boxed frames & special reinforced welded H/D steel bodies, double reinforced door panels, factory welded reinforced steel floors, with inside front floor steel encased battery box." This car has been professionally updated to 12 volt battery & electric system, factory independent suspension with dual torsion stabilizer bars, eight leaf rear springs, 12 inch massive brake drums, eleven quart H/D radiator. They proved very capable, when taking on the best of America, Europe and the auto world. They beat them all. For instance, in 1952 Chuck Stevenson finished the grinding 2,000 miles of challenging roads from Tuxtla to Juarez Mexico, finished an hour in front of the Ferraris that had been the International Road Race winners in 1951! Whether by accident or design, Lincoln created a new kind of awesome American car, with very special high performance and international race-winning capabilities. My Factory stock 1952 Lincoln, Cosmopolitan, Hardtop Coupe is described as follows: Original black & yellow California license plates. Very clean, 99% factory stock complete, 3 speed automatic, shifts smooth. very straight, complete stock steel body and stainless steel trim, some stainless trim needs installation. Brake cylinder rubbers are needed which I have. It also needs distributor work to make better running & road ready. The engine starts up quickly and runs nicely, but needs distributor advance. The driver front fender is in primer with very minor work that has been professionally well done. All factory tinted safety glass is in very good condition, leatherette interior & upholstery is also in good shape. The head liner should be repaired or replaced. White side wall tires are in good 95% condition. This Limited Production Coupe model was of special type sponsored by the Lincoln Factory in the 1952, 1953 and 1954 Panamerican road Races which they dominated.
