Being offered for sale is this very nicely built,
show quality, ALL ORIGINAL STEEL,
1937 Slantback Sedan.
The current owner/collector has had the car for the past 7 years.
After driving it for the first couple of months
he decided to do a full ground-up restoration of
the frame, suspension, body, and interior turning it into "his" street rod.
The project began in the late 1990s and was completed at the end of 2008.
Exterior: All body sheet metal panels were stripped,
prepped and shot with 2-Stage Hugger Orange GM Code 72 clear coat/base coat.
This was topped with GM Code 79 Corvette Millennium Yellow flames
along with some tasteful pin striping.
The fit and finish is excellent on this all steel car.
All panel gaps are uniform with perfect alignment.
A few very minor, almost un-noticed rock chips appear
on the lower frontal area giving evidence this Slantback
is a show quality driver; not a trailer queen!
The factory '37 grill is painted with a stainless frame.
Other features include custom mirrors,
recessed turn signals,
smoothed and filled front and rear lower body panels
and running boards, and
a recessed 3rd tail light and license plate.
Trunk and door handles were removed and
operate seamlessly with electric solenoids & locks.
Interior: The interior is nicely upholstered in a Cinnamon colored leather
and high-end vinyl combination.
All surfaces are in like-new condition with no evidence of wear or blemishes.
The dash has a billet insert with a full complement of gauges and controls
for the Hot Rod Air AC, heat & defrost system.
Power windows, power door locks,
keyless enter and trunk release.
An Ididit polished stainless steering column
is topped by a half-leather wrapped billet Banjo steering wheel.
Engine and Driveline: Under the hood is a professionally built
Street & Performance 350 CI 385 HP Chevy crate engine
fitted with a polished Street & Performance TPI fuel injection system
Edelbrock Aluminum heads,
mid-level performance cam for great low and mid-range acceleration,
HEI performance distributor,
Block Hugger headers, and Walker HD Radiator.
Backing that beautiful engine package is a
built Bowtie Overdrives TH700R4 Transmission,
custom narrowed Dutchman 9" Ford differential with
Dutchman 31-spline axles and Posi 3.55 gears.
The completely boxed & braced frame features
fully polished hardware throughout,
Mustang II Rack & Pinion steering,
QA1 adjustable performance coil over front & rear shocks,
and polished tubular A-arms.
Braking is accomplished with Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes.
Wheels and Tires: Front and rear powder coated ET "Dragmaster" wheels.
Please note that an additional set of mint condition wheels
are included with the sale!
Front: Polished American Racing "Gasser-type",
Rear: Polished American Racing Torque Thrust.
