Race Car History: Great Oregon Racers Compliments of Marty Strode,
Member of the HAMB from North Plains, Oregon
"Its days like today that I appreciate the power of the HAMB,
for years I have wondered whatever became of
one of my favorite Gassers.
It was a white, (with scallops) '34 Ford 5 window coupe,
and it ran C/G with an injected 283 Chev.
The car was called "goofin noff",
the owner/driver was named Jim Hoxit,
he belonged to the "Ramblers",
one of the top clubs in the area.
A couple of days ago I received an email from a fellow member (Chop-It)
telling me he bought it a few years ago.
He sent me these pics to post: #1 was taken at Woodburn in
1965, #2-4 show the condition at purchase,
and #5, is after the rebuild.
Thanks Norm, for sharing the photos and
saving that car, and
thanks to my pal Lloyd Clemmons for his input".
