![]() Has been in my family for the past 19 years and still has under 140,000 total miles on it. That low mileage was made possible by a very short commute for teacher wife and also use as a first vehicle for three teenagers. The motor is the famously dependable slant-six and the automatic transmission is the 904 3-speed with overdrive. The motor uses no oil, is smooth, and will start right up even after sitting for weeks. The transmission was gone through several years ago to replace a defective reverse band. The major needs of this vehicle are cosmetic -- the usual chips in the paint and several small dents and dings. No major dents and no Bondo or other repairs from accidents during our ownership. There is virtually no rust of even the surface kind and absolutely no rust-through, except for a couple of frame rotten spots where the drainage from the cowling runs down and across the frame rails. The rails are not sagging or coming apart there but some remedial patching should be done to prevent a future problem. The undersurface was apparently undercoated shortly after purchase by the original owner and this prevented the frequent winter road salt of this area from forming the usual heavy rust. The windshield does have a major crack and needs replacing but there is a replacement windshield that will go with the car for that repair. Inside, the front seat (driver s side only) needs repair and/or a slip cover. Tires are good high tread (whitewalls turned to inside) and all the safety features work properly. If you have thought about an inexpensive classic car, and station wagons turn you on, this may be what you have been looking for. Information Email: whnesbitt@gmail.com |
