Sapphire Blue Leather Interior, 95,000 miles.
Classic, rare, hand-built sedan of which only 7,380 worldwide
(only 1440 to US/Canadian market) were ever made.
Proclaimed the "Fastest Sedan in the World" in 1979
by Road and Track and cost $38,230 new.
This "wolf in sheeps clothing" is a pristine 9 out of 10 condition.
Everything is in superb condition and working order.
Since the last owner (my father in law - 2nd owner / I am the 3rd)
a good amount of normal work has been done
so you can begin enjoying this legendary car immediately.
The only alternative, like buying any older less cared for classic car,
is to spend half as much to begin with and
then pay a fortune to make it right!
Unique standard features include hydropneumatic suspension, sunroof,
walnut burl dashboard, handbuilt 6.9 liter engine
(largest ever installed in a Mercedes) and
dry sump racing oil system.
Important improvements include: new premium paint job
with original sapphire blue color,
new tires, most engine gaskets including all weather seals replaced
that have crumbled due to normal aging,
professionally recondition original like-new vegetable tanned leather seats
and Alpine CD multi changer with AM/FM audio.
Performance features: 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds, top speed 133 mph.
Also included is a car cover as well as
copies of the original Road and Track performance test,
official Mercedes Benz dealer sales training manual.
Must be seen in person and driven to be truly appreciated.
A rare, timeless, high performance classic!
